SYNOPSIS

SUMMARY

I'm currently an intern with Hotstar working with the Data Platform team towards building & optimizing their scalable data ingestion pipeline and information retrieval systems. I'm deeply inspired by the UNIX philosophy and apply the golden principles to daily development activities. Also being a staunch believer in the impact of open-source, I try my best aligning with this while working on a new project or research.

Distributed systems have always fascinated me, and have always been enthusiast of taking up and understanding system design problems. I regularly keep myself updated with engineering blogs of organizations. I'm keen of reading case-studies and keep up with tech-talks on InfoQ. In the field of data engineering, I'm learning more on evolution of data platform architectures and scalability engineering. Also, I love following AI research and educate myself furthur on the fundamentals of machine learning.

OPTIONS

--developer cloud

Have worked with Hadoop, Spark, Hive and setting up workflows to automate jobs. Built solutions to automate migration and transformation of huge-amount data to improve system query latency.

Experienced with setting up and configuration of VPCs, cloud instances and deployment of personal projects over AWS. Also, have worked on automation of containers deployment through Dockerfiles and K8s.

--developer web

Have worked on mutiple web-based projects involving full-stack development - mostly Node.js, Python, Go -backed. Developed data-intensive applications over HTTP REST, TCP, sockets interfaces. Also, have integrated 3rd party APIs such as Algolia, Cloudinary, Firebase.

Built and deployed web-based ERP (logistics solution) with load-balancing as freelance project currently being used in production.

--developer NLP

Have built langauge-processing applications involving NLU, grammar-awareness and knowledge extraction. Have also worked on deployment pipeline of such projects.

--contributor

Have open-sourced multiple projects built by me (and us) at hackathons as well as for the community and self-dev. Also, have contributed to other's projects, notably brod - Kafka's Erlang client. I build at GitHub.

* Digital Assistant: E-commerce bot.
* Needle In Haystack: Efficient file-system based image service.
* Ayuda: Engaging blockchain-backed lender-borrower platform.
* CorrectLy: Spelling & Grammar correction engine.

Some white-hat security pen-testing projects and hacks:

* EaseMyTrip: Analyzing publicly-available flight data on EaseMyTrip to derive valuable insights on Indian aviation trends.
* hoichoi.tv: Exploitation of DRM loopholes to programmatically access media.

--automator

Have worked on various automation projects including Android (Tasker), cron jobs (GAScript), web scraping (Selenium, requests). Also worked on setting up automated deployment pipelines using Travis CI, Jenkins.

--other

I also aggregate knowledge over Anki, Trello, Pocket and am an avid Quora & Medium reader. I'm also currently working on a knowledge centralization & discovery project.
